Apple co-founder and longtime Chief Executive Officer Steve Jobs died on Wednesday at the age of 56, casting shadow over Apple's future.
"Steve died peacefully today surrounded by his family," Jobs' family said in a statement.
"We are grateful for the support and kindness of those who share our feelings for Steve. We know many of you will mourn with us, and we ask that you respect our privacy during our time of grief," said the statement.
Apple's website has changed to "Steve Jobs: 1955-2011," along with the most iconic picture in which the scraggly bearded charismatic man posed with one hand up to his chin.

Steve was 56 year old, when he died and though he failed with his promise to live few more decade which he said on stanford university in 2005 just 1 year later when he was declared cancer patient, which later on was cured with surgery, But his life will live forever in our eyes and will always surround us with his "i" products which is available in the market, He also said in stanford university guest lecture on 2005, that his products are being copied by Microsoft :P, and we saw no reaction from Microsoft corporation on this note, Now Apple Incorporation is World's Second most Largest Incorporation with billion dollar worth.

In 2004, he beat back an unusual form of pancreatic cancer, and in 2009 he was forced to get a liver transplant. After several years of failing health, Jobs announced on Aug. 24, 2011 that he was stepping down as Apple's chief executive.

Apple board of directors also said:-
"Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives. The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."

 Facebook co-founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on his Facebook page: 
"Steve, thank you for being a mentor and a friend. Thanks for showing that what you build can change the world."
 Google co-founder Sergey Brin said on Google's social network Google+:-
"Steve, your passion for excellence is felt by anyone who has ever touched an Apple product. And I have witnessed it in person the few times we have met."
 Google co-founder and CEO Larry Page said:- 
"He (Steve) was a great man with incredible achievements and amazing brilliance. He always seemed to be able to say in very few words what you actually should have been thinking before you thought it."
 Microsoft co-founder and Chairman Bill Gates.
"I'm truly saddened to learn of Steve Jobs' death,Steve and I first met nearly 30 years ago, and have been colleagues, competitors and friends over the course of more than half our lives. The world rarely sees someone who has had the profound impact Steve has had, the effects of which will be felt for many generations to come,"
Wozniak told ABC News,
"I'm shocked and disturbed."

Just a day before his death, New CEO, Tim Cook made his first big product announcement: iPhone 4S. However, the latest generation of iPhone seemed to fail to wow some analysts and investors, As a result, Apple shares declined up to 5 percent in Tuesday's trading while shares of its major rivals, including Samsung Electronics, HTC and Nokia all gained Wednesday.

According to market research company comScore's latest data on Wednesday, Google's Android operating system maintained a sizeable lead for the three months ending in August, with 43.7 percent of the U.S. smartphone market share while Apple's iOS keeps at the second place with a market share of 27.3 percent. 

With support of publishers and major music labels, affordable pricing and iTunes user base, the upcoming iCloud, called by Jobs as Apple's "next big insight" which will be launched next Wednesday, is expected to shine over its competitors like Google and Amazon. With an increasing army of Apple's loyalists and the Apple craze in the booming Asian markets, the company already has a phenomenal lead against its competitors.
